Natalie, Liliana and I recently got the opportunity to slip away from Melbourne and fly up to North. The main reason was to introduce Liliana to her two Great Grandmothers, Jean Salmon and Grace Bull. We flew out on Saturday Morning and left the Gold Coast on Tuesday Morning. Natalie returning to Melbourne, I flew to Sydney for a work do. Anyway, it was a truly great trip, we crammed so much in and saw heaps of family that we didn't expect! Anyway here are some of the photos:Saturday morning 21 April 07, Liliana's first moments on Tweed soil, in Mum's lovely backyard. I really miss the lush green of the Tweed.
First stop - Great Grandmother Jean Salmon (Nan to all i the know). A fantastic surprise was great Aunt Perry (and Craig) who happened to be in the area for a visit!
We all headed of to the Tweed River regional art gallery for lunch.
Great views from the cafe
Liliana in all her chubby beauty with her Murwillumbah t-shirt, very pretty!
Natalie's Aunt (Liliana's great Aunt) and family made a surprise visit from Kingscliff.
A family shot, I'm looking pretty scruffy, everybody else looks great!
What a hug!!!!
Saturday Afternoon, Next stop, Mullumbimby, 'The Witches Cauldron" and dear friend Clinton! Beer, wine cheese and Indian made for a good night, Liliana was great!
Sunday 22, drove up to Murwillumbah to fetch Mum and gate crashed Nan's Birthday party. What a bunch of Beautiful ladies!!
Sunday afternoon 22, We drove down to Byron and met up with Clinton again for some fish and chips on the beach. After a coffee we said our goodbyes and headed back up to Mum's.
On the Monday we hot footed it up to Bris Vegas to spend some time with Great Grandmother Grace Bull. Grace put on a lovely spread and we had a very relaxed couple of hours.
So relaxed that of our team just had to have a nap! First time I have put Liliana down and she has fallen asleep instantly
In the Kitchen, Nat's eying off the biscuits
One at a time, please
Three generations of beautiful ladies!!
Nat, Liliana and Grace
Last but not least we caught up with our dear friend Jackie, we had some take away Vietnamese and headed back to Tweed Heads to Mum's home absolutely happily exhausted ready to fly out the next day.

Hi there all
Well the latest news is that I have a new job. I am going to be working full time with 'ARISTOCRAT entertainment' here in Melbourne. They are the people that that provide the worlds clubs and Casinos with Poker machines. I will be working as an animator, coming up with designs for new machines and adapting machines already finished for other parts of the world.
I start on the 1st of February, they are based down at the bay on the other side of the city. I consider myself very lucky to have been able to spend this last bit of time with Natalie and Liliana!
All the best

Hi there, I have just put some advertising on my blogs to see if I can't generate some income. It is more of an experiment than anything else. I am interested in feedback from anyone as to what you think.
All the best

Here is Dad's 2oo6 Christmas poem. It has taken me a while to put it up, in fact I just realized I haven't put any Christmas pictures up either, I will get a Xmas retrospective up soon. Thanks dad for great poem!
WHERE DID IT GO?? 2006 THE YEAR THAT WAS…..
A thumbnail sketch of the year gone by,
Come reminisce with Bronwyn and I…..
0
Our Volkswagen Camper, old but fun
Was sold and we bought another one
Not a Combie this time but a Nissan Van
Bought from the widow of a deceased old man
He’d spent lots of money and time it seems
Making this bus his dream machine
0
Emily came out from the U.S. of A.
And though we were working we found time to play
We chased kangaroos through the bush and the scrub
Tried to marry her off to a bloke in a pub….
We camped at the beach and worked on our tans
And catered a party right out of the van
0
Our first trip away was to Broken Hill,
Across multi-hued desert, oh what a thrill
To visit with Andrew, he’s a nurse you know
Stationed far to the west, (a bit of a blow)
There’s no habitation for hundreds of klicks
He’s a new understanding of “out in the sticks”
0
Andrew bid us farewell and we drove to Mildura
Where Bron went to High School before I knew her
For ‘Foodies’ with passion it’s a lush garden town
We slurped local wines, washed gourmet food down
Bron’s cousins were great, made us part of the scene
We’ll not soon forget our ‘Night on the Green’
0
Then
The Jap prison break was of interest to me
Those Japanese prisoners had only one aim
To commit Hari Kari, to die without shame
My Uncle Cess, was stationed there then
But in

A great excursion, but all too fast
So soon back at work, the trip in the past
When you run a Motel, you can’t be faint hearted
We ask ourselves why we ever got started ?
The hours are long - from six through to ten
Then you get up next morning and do it again (!)
0
I’m sure we’d go crazy if not for our friends
Who call in to see us and brighten Weekends.
The Stainlays, the Watsons and Dear Father Harry
Butterfields, Hornimans, all stop and tarry
The Parkies, the Munros, Bill, Liz and Cait
For forty odd years now Bill’s been my mate!
0
We’ve new friends too in this Motel game
Our complaints and our giggles are all the same
When our days coincide, (and we’re free) four of us
Load goodies and wine in the old Nissan bus
Then with Karen and
Having labelled this time “The Picnicking Years”

Bron’s Mum had a birthday, she turned ninety four
So off to Rockhampton to cheer and toast “More”
A cake with candles for everyone there
Some of the oldies rubbed cake in their hair (!)
Twin Brother Ray and wife Vikki, our hosts
Showed us the town, Yeppoon and the Coast
0
Ninety three big ones for my Mum Jean
Still as bright and as active as she’s ever been
I’m sure she’ll be with us for many years yet
A telegram from the Queen’s a pretty safe bet!
She’s coming for Christmas, we’ll squeeze her in
Can’t use that old chestnut “No room at the
0
I know I’m long winded and a bit of a bore
But the story’s not over. Wait! I’ve got more….
This past October found us winging our way
Exotic Vietnam Two weeks holiday
Inexpensive. Exciting. Just cracker-jack
As Bronwyn exclaims “We are SO going back”
0
Step son Shane, we haven’t seen for a while
Emailed a pic - daughter Sophie’s sweet smile
But the news that will colour this year pink or blue
Is that Christian and Natalie are expecting too!
So we’re heading to
A Grandpa at last! An event to remember!
0
I’m so excited! What took them so long?
If it’s a boy, will he be big and strong?
Or maybe a girl with curly blonde hair?
I hope baby arrives while we are there!
Armed with a Teddy, I’ll be such a sight
Blubbering and cheering with all of my might!
0
More precious than gifts left under the tree
A new baby for Christmas sounds good to me
Bringing families together in peace, love and hope
They bind us so tightly, much stronger than rope
Long ago a small baby showed us the way
May the joy that is Christmas be yours every day!

I have just started an online store with cafepress, an amazing company that will produce clothing and other materials with my imagery. They take orders online and ship out the product, they send me a cheque for an amount of each sale. I will try this out and see how it goes. I have only my logo character available at present but check again soon to see more original designs.
Check it out at: https://www.cafepress.com/christiansalmon
